Ethics Inside Certification Case Study: Jones Lang LaSalle
About Jones Lang LaSalle
Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is a financial and professional services firm specializing in real estate services and investment management, employing 36,000 people in 750 locations throughout 60 countries.
Overview of Jones Lang LaSalle's Ethics Program
As a business with multiple and different service lines provided through employees with vastly different skill sets, backgrounds, cultures and languages, implementing an effective ethics and compliance program is complex. JLL is proud of its systems of education, controls, communication and other methods that we have implemented to drive a culture of expected and real ethical behavior by our staff and representatives.
But How Good Was Our Program?
Statistical and anecdotal evidence supported the notion that JLL had a strong ethics program, but how could that be independently measured? And furthermore, would independent measurement bring any further benefit beyond a yardstick against which we could be compared? To answer these questions, JLL decided to approach the Ethisphere Institute and apply for Ethics Inside Certification&tm; (EIC).
